Hi
I have had one of these guitars for 5 years, i did not buy it new.
It has given me much pleasure and now I wanted to find out a little more about it. Does anyone know how to date, where made, spec, components, reviews, number made or anything else about these guitars? Much appreciated. Woody |

Hi Woody,
I post a lot of vintage guitar literature on my website VintAxe.com. I've got a load of Hohner stuff that is not up on the site yet. Give me some idea of when you believe your guitar was made and I'll see if I have the catalog that originally advertised it. Original catalogs are a great source of information for components, specs, prices, etc. SB |

Hi SB,
Thanks for that I will check out your website. I am not sure how old it is and there is not much on the web about the SE 400 in general. I think its an 80's guitar. I think it has gold plated hardware and Humbacker pickups, it has inlay on the neck. It seems very well setup and is quite load to play acoustically which is why I bought it. I would really like to date it and know where it was made. I tried asking Hohner direct but they say they only answer US email and I am in the UK.

| Grrrrrrr.... don't you hate companies who think that it's the America Wide Web, and not the World Wide Web? |

| Someone has told me they were still available New in 1997 in the UK for £445 so it is not that old. It also looks similar to a Hohner HS 40. |

| It may have been "New Old Stock". |
