Here is the link for Eric Clapton's phenomenal, moody performance of I Shot The Sheriff at the 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas, Texas.
I love the throaty sound of his "Crashocaster," especially in the solo. At about the 7:56 mark, he begins a trill of triplets with what I can only describe as a tenacious sound like a barking dog.
I am dying with desire to be able to produce that sound. If anyone has some insight, I would be very grateful for his/her help. Thank you! |

Lovely clear version (I can confirm the above is a legit Youtube link people!) Made me chuckle because I want the bass player's tone, nevermind Clapton!
Unfortunately (being a bass player) the only way I know of getting that kind of sound is buying a Gibson/Epi I'll get me mate to have a look if no-one on the forum pipes-up...he knows these things... |

Ha! He does seem to perform with that same bassist quite often. It's funny how, not being a bass-player myself, I usually have to strain so hard to hear the instrument in any music. Back when I was a drummer, the percussion was always the first thing that stood out to me.
Thanks for your attention! |
