I just received a vintage Norma guitar that was purchased in 1975. The only thing that I can identify on it is a tag a the back which says FG 33 and in the front it says NORMA. I don't know anything about this guitar except for the fact that it was possibly made in the 1960's around there and that it is Japanese made. If anyone can give me some info on it, on its worth and history that would be greatly appreciated OR direction to where I can learn more about it via internet or even books. THANK YOU SO MUCH =)

Your NORMA was made in Japan in the early 1970's. It is a Grand Concert Folk guitar pictured in the 1972 Strum N Drum catalog. You can see the catalog on my website VintAxe.com if you are interested in taking a look for yourself. SB |

| Yeah, that would be correct. It may not be worth $5 to you if you are only interested in your FG33. However, if you truly want to learn, you'll get the cheapest musical instrument education available on the web for $5. I wish someone else would do all the work of posting catalogs and only charge me $5 to take a look for a month. So far no one else seems to want my job; I guess it must be since I earn about a nickel an hour for my efforts, not to mention the expense involved in buying catalogs. It's a service to the guitar collecting community and I earn enough back to pay for the server space required. It's your call, good luck with your information search. SB |

My first guitar was a Norma, from the Edison dept. store...1967, it was. Cost $19.95, as I recall.
Made of the finest plywood, with a "steel reinforced neck", a trapeze tail-piece and SERIOUS action...
But, it was a start! |
