Looks cool, kind of like a guitar with a banjo body. Is it classed as a guitar or a banjo or a Bantar for that matter (I know I'm being a total noob here!)
Is the tuning/scale lengh like a guitar?
Everyone round here seems to play the 4-and-a-half string banjos.

Hi guys
Tim : there's somehing I didn't tell you.
I ordered a 5 string model just after reading opinions on a forum more oriented banjo than this one.
By mistake they sent (first time I order an instrument online!!!) me a 6 string "guitjo".
I called the guy who replied that I can return it (no charge of course) but I tried it...the neck is really fantastic (finish and playability, that's a standard guitar neck) and I love the sound.I finally decided to keep it.
Incredible special price : $207 iso $539....probably because nobody wanted to play it.... except me.. 
About the tuning I tried one of my own to begin.I'll post a first sample asap (just need one moment alone at home for recording it) to give you an idea.

....I finally returned it......why......
I ordered a beauty : an expensive five string banjo.I received it from germany.....broken!
I have to pay $70 to return it and the online service never replied to me....
1BL / :may you ask your wife how to translate in english "tu l'as dans l'os"...just what I'm thinking  |

I have to say, I like the sound of it. I play Bodhran and I find folk sessions can get a bit 'top-endy' at times unless you've got a guitar chugging along in the background, which must suck for the guitarist. Of course I could learn to jam along on my acoustic bass which would help...
Are you still planning to get another one? |

Hi Tim
I like that kind of sound too but the 5 string model is still better due to the fifth string (or the first?..with a tuner fixed in the middle of the neck) and its particular tune,that offers many possibilities.
The german website emailed me a few hours ago and they sent a new one to me....good!
As soon as I get it I'll send you a few short ideas, ok? |

....I spent five hours..
-3 hours to find articles and forums talking about the banjo adjustments on the internet
-2 hours to adjust it and repair the damage (super glue was fine)
Final result :
Perfect neck adjustment and action
Stays perfectly in tune
no fret buzz at all

Mrs Bass sleeps as I read this. Guy, I know that "Je l'ai dans l'os" = I have it in the bone, but I don't know what it means. Is it a problem that you just can't let go of until you've sorted it? If so, then a good English equivalent is "It's really got under my skin"
