None of the above. Formed in the 60s.

Hate to be a Kiljoy, but, if I'm right, I didn't even have to Wikigoogle this one. Led Zeppelin (NME's top tip for 1968) never had chart single success that I knew of. I remember my undergraduate pub had a 7" vinyl "Immigrant Song" on the jukebox. I remember we'd put it on often and join in the opening "hyyeeeaarghah". A candidate for "cool song intros" in fact. IIRC, they came up with the name after a chum said "they'd go down like a lead zeppelin" but I don't know if they had a diff name prior to that.

Nope. Think 'orgasm'

That's my final clue. I've already given way too many.

Bass, it was supposedly Keith Moon who said they'd go down like a lead balloon. There were a few 7" vinyls released in the USA but in the UK they had no singles. Didn't one of their albums (Physical Graffitti, I think) make the US singles chart because it sold so many copies it eclipsed everything? (Or is that just legend?) Also, I believe their original moniker was "The New Yardbirds".

Sorry Mike, back to the quiz...

That makes me want to say The Buzzcocks, but they were hardly formed in the 60s.

Neither did they record 18 albums. One album, wasn't it?
