$50 a pop?? a bit pricey?? i could go to the Chinese hat factory in China, buy the factory, sack everyone in there, asset strip it, refurb it as an Olympic hotel later to be turned in to a Monk reconditioning lab, then i could fly back home first class and retire on the $200 you would spend on these puppies.
A lid is going on your amp, nobody will ever see the Chinese hats, get the spring clips like everyone else.. |

I think that's good advice TBH I was thinking when I first started looking that they couldn't be to expensive. That's why I'm here looking.'
But you're right, I'll be the only one to know they're in there. |

Took out the link when I didn't get any bumps...apparently they are getting that price out of these. I can't believe there are no repros out there. Anyhow here is the pic what I was looking for

BTW got my transformers and sockets installed for my 45/100 . Got most of the parts but am waiting for the filter caps and swamp resistors before I get started soldering.
Here's a link to a build at metroamp
http://forum.metroamp.com/viewforum.php?f=32
I have some diodes left over but I like the looks of these and may use these instead :
Figured this was gonna be my last build (Marshall anyway) So I'm toying with the idea of making it look as authentic as possible . I did not opt for the bulgin power connection though. |

You could get the metroamp retainers and ask your gran to do some crocheting - close enough . No Bulgin? You chicken. I've used Bulgins before and I don't mind so long as the male prongs are on the amp socket, not on the plug end ( , on the rare occasion I've seen that) |

I'll probably buy the metro tube retainers. Can't go wrong for $10 .
I opted for a voltage selector switch instead of the bulgin.Transformer comes with all the right taps so I figured why not?
Thanks for the advice .BTW NOS Bulgin plugs are high as hell too, The metro store lists this "mini"

, that's a lead with "male" pins. Even though they're shrouded, I don't like it. The male pins should be on the amps socket, with the plug having female pins. Much safer to pick up if the lead is accidentally kicked out onstage. I'm currently staring at a WEM FR30 that I'm sending to Charlie Watkins himself (I've been very slow to organize this) and it has the Bulgin. There was one on a Marshall that I sent on to my mate Terry in CA. They don't worry me too much for playing in the house but a dark gig might not appeal to me. |
