I bought a guitar off my buddy a few years ago to help him out financially, at the time I was too busy to learn to play. Now I'm ready to start learning; but I can't tell what brand it is.

It's an electric guitar, with two tone knobs, one volume knob. And its black and wood finish. The face plate on the body is white.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any pics? or maybe a name off the headstock...or anything really?!

It's got a long thing sticking out of one end and with strings running down it, and it appears to be made of some kind of wood.

What our comedians are saying is that your description sounds like a Stratocaster copy, of which there are numerous examples. Anything on the headstock (this bit)?

or maybe on the metal plate holding the neck to the body?
