I have never heard of James Oburns so that's an odd endorsement. Have a look at Vintaxe for Baldwin catalogues from the era: http://www.vintaxe.com/catalogs_european_baldwin.htm and the site is run by a regular contributor here at Guitarsite, going by the name of SB.
