I've been Playing Electric guitar since I was 15 and tryed a hole wack of stomp boxes and couldn't get that sound I realy wanted untill,, I found the combination of a Marshall tube head 800 or JMP combined with a MXR
Micro Amp or if you want to buy a Preamp that will be the last one you buy if you realy like a killer Metal tone warm and versitile than I strongly recomend the Tech 21 Sans Amp GT2 if you can get the booklet with it it has a dozen presets of amp tones such as Boogie Original, Marshall Plexi, Van Halen style, Metalica Style, and Killer Metal Style but you can create your own tone and the back of the book has six blank templates to write your own settings once youve found that killer tone
I bougt mine at a second hand music store for $130 Canadian tax in
and believe me it''s well worth it

Tech 21 make some great stuff, they make a great amp called trademark 10, its a 10watt practice and recording amp, i agree that gt2 pedal packs a lot of punch, its been around a good few years but it still sounds great.
