Hi again, fellow twang fan. I'm back.

This week's lesson belongs to the 'beyond' part of Guitar for Beginners and Beyond. It's a fairly tricky little piece I wrote and that I call 'Buster the Cat'. He, Buster, was a constant source of irritation while I was putting this together, so I named it after him. It's a semi jazzy finger-pickin' thing that has a neat little bass-line going and an easy-on-the-ear chord progression. I think you're going to enjoy it.

http://www.guitarforbeginners.com is where to start, look for the Weekly Lesson link. You'll see that I've indicated the chord changes in the video, making it dead easy to follow along with the tab.

I'm about to place an order for a reprint of my book PlaneTalk. I ran out of books while I was in Canada last year and I've been selling the book as a PDF file ever since. To all those who have written asking about the real book: the wait is almost over. I'll announce its availability at the site. PlaneTalk (as if you didn't know already) is the only book out there that reveals the simple visualization 'trick' to seeing the whole fretboard as friendly, familiar territory. It sure has helped a lot of players out there 'see the light', have a read of the testimonials to see for yourself. I'm also beginning talks with some Japanese publishers to see if I can get it translated for their market.

Are you into slide guitar? I'm in the middle of putting together my Slide Guitar in Standard and Dropped D Tuning DVD. I get through a few more minutes everyday. I'm giving away all my secrets for this. I'll announce it also when it's finished ... should be a couple of months. Meanwhile, drop in and join the Slide Guitar Forum if you want to learn more about the art. http://www.bottleneckguitar.com

And lastly, if you'd like to listen to some of my music, go to http://www.soundclick.com/kirklorange ... I usually have a track in # 1 position in the charts there. Right now it's an instrumental off my album No Apostrophe called Gangocka, featuring the 'creme de la creme' of Sydney (Australia) players. It was a studio jam we did over one of my riffs that turned out so well that I included it on the album. There is some stellar playing from Mick Kenny on piano and Tony Buchanan on sax.

OK, that's it from me,

Kirk
