Hi once again, fellow twanger. I'm back with part 2 of that beautiful Beatles song, Yesterday. I trust you've nailed part 1 down and that you're ready to tack this onto the end. There's nothing unusual to report in this section, but you'll see and hear that I've arranged it in an interesting manner.

Go to Guitar for Beginners and Beyond, follow the Weekly Lesson link and enjoy the free lesson, As always, it consists of a movie showing both hands, accurate tablature, a couple of midi files to practice to and written commentary.

As you probably know, I have taken delivery of a new print run of my book PlaneTalk - The Truly Totally Different Guitar Instruction Book. It sure is good having real books after my year away and only being able to offer the PDF version of the book and slide rule. Together, they reveal the 'trick' to seeing your whole fretboard as friendly familiar territory, a simple but all-powerful visualization technique. If you're one of the thousands of players fed up with trying to turn scales and modes into meaningful music, then do yourself the favor and drop in to find out more. There IS a better way. Read the testimonials here.

For anyone living in the Brisbane, Australia area, I'm going to be doing a slide guitar workshop on Tuesday October 4th at Music Junction, 252 Kelvin Grove Rd, starting somewhere around 7 pm. Call 07 3354 9555 to book a seat ... I'm desperately trying to get my 'How to play slide guitar in Standard and Dropped D tunings' DVD finished by the day, but I don't think I'll do it. It's a huge job and I'm well past the half way mark, but I think I need more than three weeks. It should be a good night though and I'll have a box full of PlaneTalks there too.

Speaking of slide guitar, I uploaded a new Mp3 to my Soundclick page ... it's an electric slide overdub to a pretty well known blues chord progression. Download it (or any of the other tunes there) for free. If you're interested in learning more about the art of slide guitar, come and join a bunch of us sliders at the Slide Guitar Discussion Forum ... there's a heap of good info there.

OK, until next week, happy twangin'!
