Premier Rock and Metal radio show, The RoadRash Bash, goes interactive by giving listeners a chance to vote for their favorite Metal guitar solo of all time. The show's host RoadRash (a.k.a John Foxworthy) announced a request for nominations on a previous show and was soon flooded with nearly 600 emails from listeners enthusiastically offering their favorite solos.
Criteria for the nominations was based on melody, style, composition and technique.
"I never realized how many great solos there've been in the past 30 years," stated RoadRash, "It was almost impossible to choose the 20 nominees, but after a week of looking them over and getting feedback from several band message boards I think we picked some winners."
Over the next two weeks 20 bands will shoot it out in a vote on Garage Radio, which will lead up to a countdown on The RoadRash Bash on 3.13.05. Voters will be able to listen to samples of the nominated guitar solos via Garage Radio's K-Amp streaming service before making their decision. The polls are online and active and ballots may be cast at Garage Radio.
