when a cable is connected to output jack of zoom it starts making
terrible noise or the effects are reduced or lost.
the zoom is two years old and it was never damaged.

try doing a factory default reset on it, the procedure should be described in the user manual, maybe the software go corrupted, also you probably have, but change guitar cables too, and try running it with a battery instead of the 9v adapter.
