A Huddersfield University lecturer says he knows the catchiest songs of all time, and has scientific proof to back it up.

According to NME, Dr Rupert Till's forumla for finding the songs is based on "variables including number of steps in a dance routine; distance in semi-tones between the highest and lowest notes in the chorus; number of chords and promotional spend by the record company."

Thankfully no Crazy Frog, but the number one song in my opinion could be described in so many more appropriate words - none of which contain "catchy."

The Top 10 Catchiest Songs Of All Time:

1. 'The Ketchup Song' by Las Ketchup

2. 'Macarena' by Los Del Rio

3. 'Y Viva Espana' by Sylvia

4. 'Holiday' by Madonna

5. 'Agadoo' by Black Lace

6. 'Boys (Summertime Love)' by Sabrina

7. 'The Birdie Song' by The Tweets

8. 'Saturday Night' by Whigfield

9. 'Paloma Blanca' by George Baker/'Una Paloma Blanca' by Jonathan King

10. 'Summer Holiday' by Cliff Richard
