hi
i wanted to know something about the 12 string elctric. seening that the strings are so close together do tyou play the same chords as on a 6 string just holding down 2 strings or are there otally different chords. and is it generally harder to play. please can anyone help

Hi Pawel,

12 string guitars are played the same way as 6 string.
The strings are close together for that reason, so you can play your normal chords, by holding the 2 close string down together.

Sometimes it can be a bit harder to play for long periods because of the increased string tension against the fingertips. Possibly this varies from guitar to guitar (I haven't tried that many 12-string electrics), I know it's a bit of a pain playing for long periods on the 12-string neck of my Danelectro doubleneck.

The nicest 12-string electric I've tried was a Rickenbacker 360-12 - that was a lovely guitar.

The Ric 360 is the coolest looking guitar on the planet too.
