feels like somthing is peeling off when i play? its a brand new gibson les paul studio. when i play it the back of the neck feels like somthing is peeling off, for example; it feels like how it would feel if you are trying to wipe off an old sticker from somthing or how it would feel if u used a pencil eraser and went to wipe the remnant eraser away. now i polished it a few times but it eventually comes back. now im sure i should already know this answer since i work at a guitar center, but unfortunelty i have no idea and i asked someone there about it and they said try and polish it. but it doesnt seem to help and i hope nothing is wrong with this guitar.
what should i do?

I'd do that first before trying anything warranty-threatening. I gather Gibson's website customer service people are very good.
EDIT: I really should not post messages late at night and not reading thoroughly the initial post. Thanks, Lee, for the link below. So many guitars are now polyurethane coated, I wasn't in nitrocellulose mode.
I had suggested that, if no joy from Gibson's website, a bit of windshield wash on a cloth would remove any gluey stuff that's been left on the neck. I WOULDN'T DO THIS WITH NITROCELLULOSE. Although n/c is not particularly soluble in isopropyl alcohol, it could soften it, worsening your trouble, and possibly hasten the eventual demise that n/c lacquer suffers.
