...circa 1989, I think.

I miss that old paisley Strat now. I sold it and the matching Tele a few years ago when I desperately needed the money. It was also a period when I was going through an anti-Fender phase. I thought I'd never play them again.

Ho hum!...

An no, that's not a cat sitting on my head, it's my actual hair.

Here's another one. It's an old Vox Clubman II that I converted to fretless.

The body was only about an inch thick and made of plywood, I seem to remember. When converted to fretless the ebony fingerboard helped give it lots of sustain which would otherwise be missing.

Also, it originally had a television-style co-axial socket instead of a jack. Which was crap. The body was too thin to install a jack socket so I put in a locking 5-pin DIN instead. Someone saw that and thought I had MIDI installed.

I used to play it with EBow, which sounded very nice on a fretless.

Nice to see an old Vox being given the chance to make some noise.
Reminds me of my elder brothers' Vox Stroller. He didn't have an amp, so he used to play it through an old reel to reel machine we had.
He eventually decided to paint it red. Took it apart, and thats the way it staid until Dad chucked it in the bin. Very sad.

Oh, nice Paisleys btw.

3 Things i like about these photo's.

1) Paisley Strat, what a nice colour! The jap reissues today look a lot tmaer than that, that colour realy stands out.
2) The Fender Strap, what a cool red Strap! can you still get them?
3) The T-Shirt, Bauhaus nuff said.

The guitar does look a beauty, wonder where it is now?

An no, that's not a cat sitting on my head, it's my actual hair.

Yeah, the modern Paisleys are rubbish. They don't look anywhere near as cool, and don't have the large 70s style headstock either.
