I went to Guilfest yesterday. (It's a festival, in Guildford, hence the name. Personally, I would have called it Guildfest with a "d", but the committee that set it up fourteen years ago or so never asked my opinion.)
Anyway, the headlining act was Billy Idol, and I couldn't help noticing that guitarist Steve Stevens was a dead ringer for Vince Noir from The Mighty Boosh.

(I only went to see Sparks, honest guv!) |

Dunno. I only went on Sunday, as I say, primarily to see Sparks (I'm a big fan). Sparks have gone full circle now and have a couple of guitarists in the line-up. A friend who came along was expecting them to be all "electro" and was surprised at how "heavy" they were.
Also on the bill were The Stranglers (I didn't bother watching much of them) and as already mentioned, Billy Idol, who strung out the handful of hits he had back in the 1980s, and played a few ill-advised cover versions ("In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, I kid you not!). Was that the sound of barrels being scraped that I could hear?
Earlier there had been Donovan and The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, who unfortunately I missed - saw them at Oxford Playhouse earlier this year - they are fantastic! |

Eddie Izzard and Pink.
I don't have pictures of either of these people, which in my humble opinion is a good thing.
