Duesenberg Peter Stroud Dragster DD2 Multibender

Duesenberg honors long time Doozy player Peter Stroud with his own signature model, the Dragster DD2 Multibender.

Known for his work with Sheryl Crow and for being the co-founder of 65 Amps, Peter helped design an instrument that can match his versatile playing style.

This new signature guitar is based on a Duesenberg production Dragster model, hot-rodded to the specs that Peter wanted. The canvass on which upgraded specs were added is a 1-piece mahogany body that is carved into a slim double cutaway shape. The body comes in a white or red PUR lacquer finish with cream binding and a black pickguard.

It has a glued-in neck with an Indian rosewood fretboard that follows the specs that Peter preferred. The neck profile follows a “D” shape and has a 25.6″ scale length. In keeping with Duesenberg tradition, ArtDeco inlays grace the length of the 22 fret fingerboard.

Peter Stroud specifically asked to equip this guitar with a Duesenberg Grand Vintage Humbucker on the bridge and a Duesenberg Little Toaster on the neck. The neck pickup gives a filtertron pickup vibe, while the bridge pickup behaves like a vintage humbucker. Controls on the guitar are pretty straightforward, with just a master volume and tone knob and a 3-way pickup selector.

Another important feature of this signature guitar is the Duesenberg Multibender bridge. This allows for B and G bender sounds as well as pedalsteel like sounds when combined with slide playing. Being a slide player, Peter has been putting the Multibender to good use, and so it was not surprising to find it on his signature model.

All the hardware on this guitar follow a nickel theme, including the Duesenberg Z-tuners and the standard strap pins. For more information on the new Peter Stroud Dragster DD2 Multibender, you can visit Duesenberg USA.
