Could anyone tell me the value of this guitar #16 of 35 ???? It is in mint condition with COA:)
I have the opportunity to buy one. The only other one that I can find on the Web that is still for sale is #24 and they are asking $25,000 (it is somewhere in Connecticut). All the other ones (#7 and #6) that I found were already sold and they won't discuss the prices that they sold for. I need to figure out if I'm getting a good deal. I don't want to make a huge mistake. What is a good selling price?? Here is a link to view some pictures of the guitar:

Hi Pam. Lee hasn't got me right about this one. I know a little about the Fender Mustang guitar but yours is a Ltd Ed Stratocaster that Fender do occassionally.
The well-known purveyor of pricey guitars, Ed Roman, has #6 of 35 http://www.edromanguitars.com/guitar/fender/mustang_fen.htm
Typically, there's no price on his site. There is a year 2000, "Jaguar" ltd ed Strat that's on eBay, and mentioned elsewhere here. I'd imagine the price is similar. Although there were only 20 "Jaguar" Strats, the Mustang 35th probably has greater appeal to the US market.
It's very confusing that Fender made Mustangs and Jaguars, but chose to use the Strat to celebrate the cars  |

I finally found that "Jaguar" Strat that glw posted (on page 24 of the "Worst colour/finish... thread on this site).
The eBay listing for the guitar is here:

but don't get over-excited by the £15,000 price. It's probably some 50% over-optimistic to sell.
Nevertheless, I'd put an insurance valuation of $15-20,000 on you Mustang Anniversary, but don't expect a dealer to offer you that much if you wish to sell it. Contact www.stratcollector.com for a dealer's price if you want to sell it. |
