AcidPlanet.com is running the Best 30-Second Guitar Solo contest.
Here's the low down:
Simply record a guitar solo - accompanied or not - in one of the following genres: Jazz, Country, Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Acoustic, or Free-form Bass.
After that its just a matter of just uploading your entry and you can submit as many as you like.
Our rockin' panel of expert judges will review and select Weekly Winners in each genre. These winners will go on to the next round of judging, where one Best 30-Second Guitar Soloist will be selected as the Genre Winner in each genre. And from there, the Grand Prize Winner will be chosen - the one solo to rule them all, the ubersolo, the absolute best 30-second solo!
Prizes up for grab include: a Peavey Predator guitar, six Curt Mangan guitar string sets (your choice), a strap and T-shirt, a Curt Mangan bass string set (your choice), subscriptions to Revolver and Guitar Player, Sound Forge 8 and Chicago Fire from Sony Media Software, as well as an ACIDplanet ProZone account
