| Just won an auction on Fleeb (well my other half did, on her insistance, using her account...but that doesn't sound as manly) for a Vintage ('Vintage' not vintage) acoustic £122, deep wood body (non of the shallow resin jobs) Black (of course) laquer over flame. Piezo, preamp etc, All sounds reasonable entry level stuff, will keep you posted... |

Getting used to it now and the strings are starting to round out a bit (new, bronze strings...nasty) definitely made the right choice about the bigger, deeper body as it does sound bassy. Too quiet to acompany a guitar when played finger-style but fine with a plec. I'm working on something to play unplugged at the pub with my sister on guitar, I'll let you now how it does live as and when we get round to it.
Plugged in the E, A and D strings sound really nice, EQ etc are very effective, nice range of sounds, however, the G string doesn't make any sound through the amp, at all! The D works fine, even up above the 5th?! Not a massive issue as the idea was to play it acoustically anyway as I love my electric.
Some pics, obviously budget - bindings are just masked lines etc, but still quite pretty I think. I've already scratched the top below the sound-hole so it'll start looking really funky soon!

You've pushed the eq up on the treble? I wonder if the piezo is a bit burgered underneath the G. Is there no output at all. or just much fainter?

| Yep, fiddled with everything. There is some output which does respond to the controls but it's a fraction of the volume of the other three strings. Like I say nota huge problem for me, more of a niggle. |

I think phosphor bronze strings are ghastly, horrible shite anyway. Maybe some nice, warm, nickelwounds would suit it better. I hop that the piezo bridge isn't really out of kilter on the G side, as that would be a bit of a pain when playing.
Is that your noo coostic in your avatar pic? You do always manage a rather good self-portrait. |

They are horrid strings, I think an online string/plec/cable etc order will be required soon...I'll start saving!
Yeah that's it in the pic, tricky one to take as I had to take it left handed without using the view-finder, whilst playing. I wish someone would invent some kind of small folding camera stand, I think 3 legs would work quite well, be nice and stable.
EDIT: did you notice I used the same purple as I asked Mike for? Clever eh?..or sad maybe. |

On the serious note; I very much hope that the piezo isn't playing you up. More likely that it's a dull string on the G. |
