This is my arrangement of the great Erroll Garner standard. This time i'm using my Jerry Jones electric baritone guitar through a Headstrong amp. Thanks so much for watching,

dale

One of my earliest "Gosh, it must be pretty difficult to get good at guitar" experiences was listening to Joe Pass playing Misty on an album of his I got from the library.

If I'm honest, though, the melody comes best through the chords rather a ton of solo clusters (still, wouldn't turn down the ability to do it if offered Smile )

A very nice version, and doesn't your Barry Tone add some lovely low end to the chords?

Now, you see, this one I wouldn't have played had 1bl not mentioned the Baritone...
However, t'was very very nice, nice tone, lovely execution.

thanks guys, really appreciate your feedback! Joe Pass what a guitar monster - isn't it amazing how some people are so gifted they can take an instrument to places most never dream of - he is one of those greats for sure. I read a quote by him that was really encouraging though, something to the effect that somedays when he picks up the guitar it wins! I can relate and it made me feel better in some odd way.

Tim i sure appreciate you watching - hope you are doing great,

dale

Dale, if you search "Joe Pass Misty" on YooToob it comes up with some software that flags up the notes on a virtual fretboard while Pass' guitar plays. Here's the URL:

Amusing, and quite scary, to watch Smile

Hey Tim, we'll have to stop saying nice things to Dale after I checked out another baritone number, "Gypsy Eyes", and read this:

Quote:
This Jerry Jones baritone guitar is a new tool in the shed. It is silly fun to play and the low tones can almost do away with bass players!

Have a great weekend,
