Hi, fellow picker. All is well for me, I trust the same goes for you.

I have posted the last third of that EC classic. This is the most challenging part as it changes to a not-so-guitar-friendly key: B flat. In fact, this section changes key twice ... sort of. There are some good finger-stretching shapes in amongst it all, but nothing too painful. The process of picking it apart and putting it back together again reveals just what a great tune it is. It really is a little masterpiece of writing; no wonder it's so well loved.

The usual: go to Guitar For Beginners and Beyond and look for the Weekly Lesson link. You'll notice a nice improvement in the movie: I bought a second camera and now both hands are filmed from the best angle, and I've figured out how to inset one frame into the other. I think you'll like it. I do keep the high resolution movies, by the way, and I'm thinking of making them available for a nominal fee to offset the cost of bandwidth. Let me know if you're interested from the contact page. They're crystal clear.

I'm trying something new at my PlaneTalk site: I've opened the normally private forum to all and sundry. You can now go and read through the many many threads about the simple technique the book describes. You won't be able to post or reply, but you can read away all you want. I think you'll find it interesting. Go to PlaneTalk - The Truly Totally Different Guitar Instruction Book and you'll see a link there to the forum.

The Slide Guitar Forum continues to grow. There are some very well informed twangers there who are always willing to pass on their expertise. Come and join and participate. Let's really get it going!

Oh, yes: Listen to my music! I'm still # 1 for Jazz General at Soundclick.com. People just seem to love the sound of that slide Fender Stratocaster.

All the best, see you next week with another ...

Kirk
