The first Brisbane International Guitar Festival 2000 (BiGFest 2000) has been officially announced as part of the International Guitar Month celebrations in April. This new and exciting festival is an all day 'total guitar indulgence' event concluding with a huge guitar concert on the Sunday 30th of April at the Waterloo Hotel, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Australia.

Guitarist Julia Parker has just been added to the bill!
Announcing an extraordinary line-up of legendary Australian guitarists along with young inspiring players in a very friendly accessible environment. The day includes workshops, masterclasses, huge guitar displays and two shows (one for all ages) from the guitar masters themselves along with other guitar activities still yet to be announced.

Featuring: KEVIN BORICH
Australia's finest Rock guitarist. Awarded 'Best Guitarist' and 'Concert of the year', KB has played and jammed with the best of them...Carlos Santana, Bo Diddley, Renee Geyer, Party Boys, Ritchie Blackmore, John Mayall and the list goes on and on. Kevin Borich comes to the Festival as an informative, interesting and inspiring musician, known for the Kevin Borich Express tours and the La-De-Da's - "Gonna see my baby tonight" (still on the playlist of major radio stations). Kevin is an artist who has stood the test of time and has a lot of wisdom and guitar tips to give to young players.

OFF THE PRESSES:
Izzy (from the Screaming Jets) is also now performing at BiGfest and is also giving a workshop on guitar through the day!!!

Other guitarists on the day and night include: Michael Fix (CMAA Golden Guitar award), Simon Patterson (Hey, Hey show), Phil Manning (blues master), Kirk Lorange (legend player now cyber-guru-guitarist), plus a host of national and local guitar players across all musical styles. More to be announced soon.

Included in the show will be guitar expo, guitar builders, guitar collectors, guitar teachers and many more guitar activities. Please ensure that the Brisbane International Guitar Festival 2000 (BiGFest 2000) is added to all concert calendars, gig guides and bookmarked as a must to attend.

The festival is being hosted by five Brisbane Music Stores in conjuction with all great guitar manufacturers as part of International Guitar Month in April. The day starts at 10am - 6pm (all ages) and show starts at 7pm till late. The one price ticket for all workshops, two shows, all inclusive is $25 per person. Day passes including under 18's are $10 (does not include the night show).
