This is basically an alternate version of the Premier Concert, with the solid red cedar top giving this acoustic a distinctly warm voice compared to the original spruce top version.
The handcrafted Premier Series is one of the company’s most popular instrument line, covering various guitar shapes that include dreadnought, auditorium, jumbo and there’s even a parlor guitar model. It is only expected that they are investing in expanding the line to provide more tonewood combination options.
The new Breedlove Premier Concert LTD Model complements the line up well, featuring the same handcrafted quality as the other guitars while introducing the use of red cedar top on a concert body guitar.
The guitar’s solid western red cedar top is supported by solid east Indian rosewood body, a combination of wood that is more commonly used on nylon string guitars for its warmth and clarity. Using this configuration on steel-string acoustics result in a tone with a slightly tamer high-end and a rounder bottom end, making it ideal for fingerstyle players. Its distinct harmonics and articulation also makes it a great complement for a spruce top equipped guitar.
The guitar has a Honduran mahogany neck, topped by a 20-fret ebondy fretboard with a slightly wider nut width of 1.75″. The slim neck profile and wider nut width makes it even more viable for fingerstyle playing, matching the fingerstyle friendly tone.

Regarding the guitar, the official description says, “…a tonewood combination that rewards a player’s touch with sweet, extended harmonic content and a robust bottom end. Other features include nickel hardware, African ebony delta bridge, ivoroid binding and it comes bundled with a deluxe hardshell case. Note that this model is labeled as LTD (Limited Edition), and maybe limited in quantity or maybe limited to a certain time frame.
