New Martin Guitars: CEO-7, Grand J12-16GTE and 000RS1

Martin Guitar welcomes three new guitars at the 2013 Summer NAMM – the CEO-7, 000RS1 and Grand J12-16GTE.

Along with the LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature, these new guitars will go on display at the Summer Namm show in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be available for purchase soon afterwards.

The new models come in different shapes, styles and price points, and provide Martin fans with new instruments to aspire for. From the workhorse 000RS1, to the 12-string Grand J12-16GTE and the sloped shoulder CEO-7, all three models are meant to offer something new and interesting.

Martin 000RS1

This acoustic guitar is the latest addition to Martin’s Road Series. It features solid sapele top, back and sides, which gives it the tonality of mahogany at a lower price point. It comes with a 000-14 Fret auditorium body that gives it good acoustic volume, and it is ready to be plugged via the built-in Fishman Sonitone pickup system. The 000RS1 is an affordable solid-body acoustic-electric with a retail price of $999.

The body follows traditional wood design featuring solid mahogany back and sides and topped by solid sitka spruce. This model also comes with built-in D-Tar Wave-Length Multi-Source electronics, combining conventional under saddle pickup with an omni-directional electret condenser microphone. This jumbo 12-string acoustic-electric is expected to retail for $1,999.

The new CEO-7 is inspired by Martin’s Golden Era 00 models, a 14-fret short scale sloped shoulder guitar in sunburst finish. The body is built using solid mahogany for the back and sides, topped by solid adirondack spruce. The guitar features classic hardware and looks including golden age tuners and period correct headplate lettering. This great looking compact acoustic guitar is the most expensive of the three, with a retail price of $2,999.
