This guitar is part of the new Limited Edition 300 Series Shaded Edgeburst (SEB) line, featuring a tropical mahogany top that is finished in elegant looking shaded edgeburst finish that gives the guitar an earthy vintage-inspired look.

The new Taylor 360e-SEB is more than just a palette swap, it represents an entirely new 12-string design from the company. It strays from the usual Grand Symphony body style that they use for 12-string acoustic guitars, and combines it with mahogany top wood. From among the new 300 SEB Series, this one allows Taylor to cover new sonic territory.

The dreadnought shape is known for its enhanced lows, and as such it helps balance the extra high frequency shimmers of the extra strings. It works in conjunction with the mahogany top’s expected warm character, resulting in a 12-string sound that is fuller and more balanced.

Taylor Master Guitar Designer Andy Powers says, “It will add extra authority to the 12-string’s shimmering character. The mahogany top will help level out the volume from top to bottom. In this guitar, a player can expect a clear and powerful 12-string sound with a very uniform string-to-string balance.”

The back and sides are crafted from sapele, meant to compliment the guitar’s mahogany top, which according to the company results in a woody and clear tone with dry midrange. It also helps in the looks department, blending well with the guitar’s earthy finish. The neck is crafted from mahogany and has a scale length of 25.5″, resulting in a stiffer string configuration. It is topped by a 20-fret ebony fingerboard that is tweaked for 12-strings, while the rosewood overlaid headstock is elongated to accommodate the extra strings.

For plugging in, Taylor equipped the 326e-SEB with their Expression System 2 electronics that feature uniquely placed three piezo sensors behind the saddle. It is adjusted to handle the extra low and high frequencies that this dreadnought shape 12-string guitar will dish out.

Other features of this guitar include 4mm dot fretboard inlays, black binding with white purfling, a three-ring rosette, and an all-satin body.

The new Taylor 360e-SEB was put on display at the recently concluded 2015 Summer NAMM Show. It has an MSRP of $2,318, for more information, visit Taylor Guitars.
