Three New Performance Artist Models from Martin & Co.

Martin unveils three new Performing Artist acoustic guitars with Jett black HPL Texture finish at Musikmesse 2013.

The three new models are the OMCPA5 Black, GPCPA5 Black and the DCPA5 Black, all of them are sporting a black overall theme.

These new acoustic guitars are currently on display at Musikmesse 2013, Hall 3.1 Stand F81. Aside from the black finish, all of them feature black Richlite fingerboards and bridges, and they follow the neck profile of existing Performing Artist Series guitars. These new models also feature upgraded electronics, they come equipped with Fishman F1 Analog pickup system.

The three new guitars are different only in body shape – the OMCPA5 has a thinner OM-14 style body and cutaway, the GPCPA5 has a bigger GPC-14 fret Cutaway, and finally the DPCPA5 has Martin’s famous dreadnought body with a D-14 fret cutaway.

Following Martin’s typical acoustic guitar configuration, the new models feature a solid Sitka spruce top, with Martin’s “X” bracing support. The soundhole has a two ring rosette.

The necks of all three guitars have a mortise/tenon neck joint and is equipped with black Corian nut to follow the overall color scheme. The fingerboard position inlays are offset dots and are are colored white. They all have Martin’s familiar solid square taper headstock and have a Performing Artist belly style bridge.

As mentioned above, these three models are acoustic-electric, featuring Fishman F1 Analog electronics. All three guitars are expected to retail with a price tag of $1,099. For more information, you can head over to Martin Guitar.
