A lot of companies launch their best stuff at NAMM, however Orange Amps have held back and are debuting their new Dark Terror at Musikmesse 2011.
UPDATE: The launch has happened – check out the demo from the Musikmesse Orange Booth below.
Tube practice amps seem to be getting a lot more popular of late, and Orange devotees are not being left out with this new 7kg offering.
Orange tell us that this little amp has a big bite. It’s a cross between their larger Thunder series, and the smaller Terror line.
As you can see from the front panel (picture below), it has shape control, and it’s switchable between 7 and 15 watts.
It also features a new high gain preamp with 3 ECC83/12AX7 tubes providing 4 stages of gain, and it’s effects loop is also valve driven.
Although it will be demoed in Frankfurt this week, you won’t be able to buy one until May – at which time it will be priced at £399 (inc. VAT) in the UK.
