VTX150 Neodymium from VOX Amplification

VOX Amplification is shipping its latest tube circuit amp modeling hybrid, the VTX150 Neodymium, a new addition to the Valvetronix Pro Series of Amplifiers

The Valvetronix Pro series are amps that combine the latest technology of amp and effects modeling with a real analog tube circuit. The VTX150 Neodymium is built on this same paradigm and improves on the design, instead of the usual 12AX7 tube, it uses an EL84 tube for that distinctive sonic signature.

VTX150 Neodymium boasts of the most number of amp models in the entire Valvetronix line, carrying 44 amp models. The amp models can further be adjusted into three variations – Song, Effect and Basic – which multiplies the total tone and voice achievable into 132. The Song variation is an amp voicing modeled after a particular guitar tone in a particular classic track. The Effect variation combines the effects and amp models while the Basic variation provides a stripped down tone – reproducing the distinct character of the modeled amps. You can save up to 8 custom user programs and you can extend this to 16 if you have the VOX VC-122SV foot controller.

There are two types of modeled effects on the VTX150 Neodymium: Pedal effects and Modulation effects. Pedal effects offer 11 effects to choose from including distortion, wah and compressor. The modulation section also has 11 effects including flanger, chorus and tape echo. You also have three types of reverb and noise reduction. You can use up to four different effects at the same time.

The VTX150 Neodymium is a 150 Watts combo amp equipped with a 12″ Celestion VOX NeoDog speaker. This speaker was created using a lightweight and powerful neodymium magnet which was also the basis of the combo amp’s name. Speaker out is also available as well as effects loop.

Another unique feature of the VTX150 Neodymium is the Power Level Control, where you can adjust the power to achieve high gain in any listening level. Other features include compatibility with a number of VOX footswitches, built in speaker simulation on its line output, line input for jamming and a guitar tuner.

Current MSRP of the VTX150 Neodymium is at $1099.00
