This amp head comes with 3 independently controlled channels that cover all levels of gain – clean, rhythm and lead.
The Bully amp intimidates with its size and the sheer number of knobs on the front. The size and knobs are not there just for show, they accommodate three totally independent channels complete with their own controls and connectivity options. This makes the Budda literally three amps in one package.
Each channel comes with 3-band EQ, reverb, resonance and presence controls. Each channel also come with their own effects loop connections and controls for send and return levels. You can even make channel 2’s effects loop global for even more versatility. This configuration gives you the possibility to create three entirely different and distinct rigs, all through one amp head.
Four EL34 120w Tubes drive the poweramp section, while seven 12AX7 tubes drive the preamp section. Budda even equipped it with two 5U4 rectifier tubes for rectifier tube failure back-up. For those that like to thinker with their amps, the power amp section can also use 6L6GC or EL34 tubes (plus KT66, KT88 5881 and 6CA7 with re-biasing), while the rectifier can use 5U4, 5A4 or GZ34 tubes. This means that aside from the familiar high-gain Budda tones that it comes with, you can tweak it to get other tube tone flavors.
PowerPan is a cool patent pending feature of the Bully, where you can pan between solid state and tube rectifiers and tweak them to your taste. A 1/2 power switch is also provided so you can still get the driven tube tone in situations that require less volume. A tube driven and foot switchable boost called “Overboost” is also provided for even more tonal and volume flexibility.
The back panel of the amp is just as beefed up as the front, featuring an amplifier chain section with an impedance selector, poweramp in and preamp out jack and a slave output. Finally, a MIDI input is also provided for using MIDI switching rigs to control the amp.
