Fishman Amplification rebrands SoloAmp as the SA220 Solo Performance System
Because of its unqualified success and seemingly limitless potential in reaching new markets, Fishman Amplification is rebranding the SoloAmp as the SA220 Solo Performance System. The SA220 won "Best of Show" at its initial launch during Summer NAMM 2008. The versatile amplification system went on to win the m.i.p.a (Musikmesse International Press Award) at Musikmesse/ Pro Light + Sound 2009 while receiving critical acclaim in leading guitar, music trade, and pro audio publications. Artists such as Jerry Douglas, Bob Weir, Jeff Pevar, Fiona Boyes, and Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens were among the first to work with the Solo Performance System.
More recently, the SA220 has met with widespread acceptance in the Live Audio and House of Worship markets, earning positive reactions from show attendees and the press at the East Coast Worship Summit 2008, InfoComm '09, and other non-music product trade shows. Next month, Worship Leader Magazine will honor the SA220 with an Editor's Pick Award.

Designed for the singer/songwriter/acoustic musician, the SA220 Solo Performance System delivers 220 Watts of clean, lightweight power into a line array of six custom high-excursion speakers and a soft dome tweeter. This unique combination provides full sound, very wide dispersion, and deeper sonic penetration than the common speaker cabinet. The enhanced bass response of the custom-designed speakers eliminates the need for a subwoofer.
A PA and amplifier in one format, the SA220 weighs only 25 pounds without stand and can be easily carried in the supplied padded carry bag with wheels. Dealer and consumer reaction to the SA220 continues to grow and new variations of the existing form factor are expected in the future, hence the name change.
Commenting on the rebranding, company founder and President Larry Fishman stated, "Obviously, we're happy about the positive reaction the SA220 has received since the beginning. But the fact that its form factor has proved to be so open-ended in terms of acceptance in new markets and future expansion of the product offering is really good news for us. We're all very excited about this and look forward to expanding and further developing the SA220 for years to come."
