Kemper Profiling Amplifier v1.5 Update
Kemper recently released the 1.5 update for the Kemper Profiling Amplifier, now with "CabDriver" for playing through standard guitar cabinets.
This amp's unique ability to profile any amp is already outstanding on its own, now Kemper gives guitarists the ability to get their sounds through traditional speaker cabinets.
The Profiling Amp was originally designed to reproduce the sound of a tube amplifier, along with the corresponding cabinet and the microphone in front of it. This setup makes it convenient for PA and recording situations; however Kemper wants to give guitarists the feeling of speakers moving the air, the way traditional guitar amplifiers would. And the only way to do that is to make Kemper compatible with regular guitar amplifiers, which they promptly accomplished through the CabDriver feature.
CabDriver retains the tube power amp audio details and speaker action of the profiled amp, and it translates the signal correctly into traditional speaker cabinets with no additional tweaking of the sounds required.
This new feature lets you get the "amp in the room" feel by simply plugging the Profilers monitor output into any neutral solid-state power amp with a standard guitar cabinet. This will be great for practice and jamming, and you can also use Cabdriver in conjunction with the main PA signal, which will make your monitors behave the way the original amp speakers would.
Aside from this new nifty feature, Kemper improved the loading method of amps, cabs or stacks from your virtual rigs. You can now easily mix and match amp profiles and cabinet profiles with the improved profile browsing feature.
The version 1.5 software update is a free download for all Kemper Amps owners. For more information and to download the update, visit Kemper Amps.
