Upcoming Hank Garland biopic
Soon to be released, Crazy, tells the story of legandary guitarist Hank Garland. A lot of folks aren't into biopics, but for those that are Crazy looks like some pretty good viewing. You can check out the trailer at http://www.crazy-themovie.com/media/trailer.html
Through the late 50s and early 60s, Garland worked with the likes of Elvis, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, and many more. Unfortunately, in 1961 at the age of 30, a car accident near Nashville left him in a coma.
"Severe brain damage claimed most of his motor functions and coordination and his dreams of greater music to come seemed to have evaporated" reads Hank's website biography.
It wasn't until two years after the accident, and after much encouragement from family, until he regained command of the guitar.
Steve Vai is on board as a producer as well as playing Hank Willams, Sr. in the film.
Check out the film's website at http://www.crazy-themovie.com/ and Hank's website at www.hankgarland.com
Thanks to Amy Garland for letting me know about the flick.
