Introducing the G2220 Junior Jet Bass II, a new Gretsch Bass Guitar

The newest Gretsch Bass Guitar has been unveiled, the G2220 Junior Jet Bass II, fronted by the same Gretsch Jet looks and backed up by Gretsch subsonic tones.

Looks like there is no stopping the creative juices of Gretsch, they have been pretty consistent in introducing new models.

To add to the long list of quality Gretsch guitars is the new G2220 Junior Jet Bass II. It has the usual Gretsch classic appointments and simple practical looks. But don’t let the “Junior” label and cute looks fool you, this is a very capable bass that rings with the same Gretsch Sound that musicians have come to know.

The new Gretsch bass has a short scale (30.3″) hence the Junior label and makes this bass guitar a lot more practical and user friendly. The bass body is shaped in the classic Gretsch Jet contour, and is made of Basswood. The neck features 20 Medium Jumbo frets, with simple dot position inlays for your reference. The fretboard is made of Rosewood and is backed by the maple material that makes up the neck. It sports a Jet Style headstock to retain that classic Gretsch vibe.

The G2220 is set up with a four-saddle bridge and a synthetic bone nut for better string to wood resonance and intonation. It comes equipped with dual Gretsch Mini Pickups that is controlled by a basic Master Volume and Master Tone knob. The overall classic look is rounded up the black Gretsch-logo pickguard.

The G2220 Junior Jet Bass II is available in Black and Tobacco Sunburst finish. Current retail price is at $475.00.

    Hi!
I have a simple question: Can I play heavy metal on a bass guitar like the Gretsch G2220 with “mini humbuckers”? I´m new as a bass player and don´t really know what to buy.
