Warwick Adam Clayton Streamer CV Signature Bass

Warwick and the U2 bassist continue their collaboration, resulting in the Adam Clayton Streamer CV Signature Bass.

Warwick Adam Clayton Streamer CV Signature Bass

This new signature bass is inspired by the Warwick Streamer CV that Adam bought back in 2013, which he liked enough to ask the company to tune it to match his preferred specs and tone.

Although he is known for using Fender basses, Adam has been working with Warwick for years now and uses their instruments widely. He first contacted the company’s founder and managing director Hans-Peter Wilfer in 2008, asking him to build a bass that meet his specifications and requirements. It took them two years to finally produce the Warwick Reverso, the result of their first collaboration.

Now the company and the U2 bassist are at it again, this time creating a signature model out of an existing model that Adam particular liked. After trying out and buying a Warwick Streamer CV back in 2013, he grew fond of its distinct shape and P-pickup configuration that he gave it ample spotlight time in many of his gigs. So again he contacted the company and expressed his interest to make the Streamer CV into his next signature instrument.

The result of this recent collaboration is the new Warwick Adam Clayton Streamer CV Signature Bass, featuring premium maple appointments and a swamp-ash extra light body. The body is joined to a one-piece maple neck with maple fretboard that visually complements the cream white high-gloss satin finish of the body.

To ensure sustain and give the bass the distinct Warwick low end, the nut and bridge is crafted from brass. While black block inlays are placed on the fretboard to serve as markers. Both the machine heads and trussrod cover are crafted from maple, adding to the overall premium appeal of the bass.

Giving this guitar its voice is a single passive Seymour Duncan P Quarter Pound (SSPB-3) pickup, routed to passive ME electronics with three knobs. This P-Bass style pickup gives the Adam Clayton Streamer CV Signature the sound similar to what we’re used to hearing when Adam is playing for U2. Completing the features is a Black/White/Black Custom Shop pickguard.

According to the press release, “Adam showed and played this bass at the record release for U2’s new album “Songs of Innocence”. In addition, Adam uses his new Warwick signature bass for recordings and live gigs all around the world and you can see Adam playing his new Signature bass on their 2015 Innocence + Experience Tour. This Masterbuilt beauty is now available from the Warwick Custom Shop in Markneukirchen, Germany.

Pricing information will soon be available, visit Warwick for further details.
