This new series is described as an affordable alternative to their Masterbuilt Custom Shop line, carrying over their building experience to produce basses at a lower cost, while still getting them 100% built at their facility in Markneukirchen, Germany.

For a bit of a history lesson, the original Warwick “Pro Series” from 2009 were affordable alternatives to their German-made Masterbuilt line. This Pro Series basses are said to be built in South Korea following the same design and quality measures as the more expensive models. Another particularly important difference is that the Pro Series do not use exotic wood, they are mostly crafted using conventional tonewoods like alder and maple.

Now Warwick is finally bringing the Pro Series production in their home country of Germany, within the same facility that they make their flagship line of instruments. This move makes the new German Pro Series part of what the company calls as “Teambuilt & Made in Germany” products.

Warwick had two years of planning and development before initiating this move. To accommodate the production of this new line of instruments, they found a regional partner that will work with them in ensuring that the Pro Series will now be 100% genuine German built. Now the company can apply the same quality standards to the Pro Series basses, and giving bassists the chance to own a German Warwick for less.

The official press release says, “The complete know-how, which the Warwick Custom Shop has built up over 30 years in Markneukirchen embodies this exciting new series of electric basses. All of these instruments are produced in Germany from the finest materials and with the best possible production methods. Only the very best machines in the world are used to carve these extraordinaire bass guitars.”

All the initial work including air drying, wood selection, fret work and gluing are now down at the Warwick facility in Markneukirchen. They then ship the parts to be assembled and finished at the undisclosed partner site which they say is just nearby. Finally, the assembled Warwick German Pro Series instruments are carefully inspected, professionally set up and shipped out from the Markneukirchen production facility.
