Eric Gales Endorsement for Magneto Guitars – Sonnet Raw Dawg

Blues extraordinaire Eric Gales, aka Raw Dawg, has teamed up with Magneto to build the Sonnet Eric Gales “Raw Dawg” Custom guitar.

Eric Gales Raw Dawg

Eric Gales, known for his biting blues tone, tried a Magneto Sonnet, liked it and requested that some of the specs be adjusted to his liking.

The resulting collaboration between Eric and Magneto Guitars gave birth to the Strat looking Sonnet Eric Gales Raw Dawg guitar. It features a 2-piece American alder body, a Canadian hard rock maple neck and an Indian rosewood fingerboard.

Eric also chose a special nitrocellulose lacquer – light mercury finish for his first Raw Dawg, fitted with gold hardware and 3 custom Lollar Blackface single coil pickups. The guitar is equipped with Gotoh tuners and has a Magneto designed bridge called “Steel Tone”. Other notable specs of the Raw Dawg include 25.5″ scale, oiled Bone nut, 22 fret neck and a medium C shape neck with tapered heel.

Eric Gales was originally considered as a child prodigy and has been a consistent favorite blues rock artist. He was given the Best New Talent award in 1991 by a guitar magazine and has since continued to make waves, playing with the likes of Santana and other big name guitar players. Most recently he was with Eric Johnson, Billy Cox for the Experience Hendrix tour.

For pure blues bliss, you can partner the Sonnet Raw Dawg with an Eric Gales Two Rock Signature Amp which we featured a few years back.
