BC Rich guitars unveils the NJ Retro Series, inspired by the classic ’80s NJ models that were built in Nagoya, Japan.

The new NJ Retro Series guitars currently carry three models, Bich, Warlock and Mockingbird. All three are now available through the company’s distributors and dealers.
This new release is said to be born out of many requests for a reproduction of the old NJ Series that were built in Nagoya Japan. Bringing with it the same look and quality but with added modern implements.
At the core of each of NJ Retro guitar is a neck-through-body design that is sought after by many for its improved sustain and stability. Giving them their unique shapes are mahogany wings that are carved into either the Warlock, Bich or Mockingbird shape. In addition to giving these guitars their distinct BC Rich look, these wings also ensure the body’s stability, reliability and balance. The NJ Retro Series comes in either Cherry Sunburst or Ferrari Red pearl finish.
The neck which goes through the body is crafted from maple and finished in gloss. It sports a modern “C” shape that’s conducive to fast rock and metal riffs and licks. The fingerboard is made from rosewood, with a radius of 12″ while the Graphite nut is 1.69″ wide. Interestingly, B.C. Rich went for a shorter scale length which is measured at 24.625″, this results in a slacky and softer string feel that will make playing through your favorite songs a breeze. All three models come with 24 jumbo size frets and BCR Diamond inlays in white pearl. Should you need to make neck adjustments, the company equipped the guitar with a dual action type truss rod.
Giving the guitar its voice are two BCR1983 Classic Reissue humbucker pickups. They are described as being a modern reproduction of the ones found on the Nagoya built NJ Models from the 1980s. A straightforward set of controls is provided, including a 3-way pickup selector switch, a master volume knob and a master tone knob.
Other features of this guitar include a die-cast tuning keys, Classic Quad bridge, and chrome finish for all the metal hardware. Rounding up the retro appeal of these guitars is the traditional 3-per side NJ Retro headstock with the old school trinity logo.
