Carvin Neil Zaza Signature NZ624 Guitar

Carvin introduces the Neil Zaza Signature NZ624, a hot-rodded version of the CT624 California Carved Top model.

Carvin Neil Zaza Signature

After being with Carvin for more than 4 years, Neil’s customized CT624 model is finally turned into a signature guitar for other players to appreciate.

Distinct features of this new guitar include artist approved thin-profile neck, single-volume control layout, Carvin locking tuners, and signature truss rod cover.

According to Carvin, “The NZ624 is loaded with features usually only found on guitars twice its price, but because we sell direct to you, you can own a custom-made, hand-built guitar without the custom-made, hand-built price. With hundreds of Custom Shop options, you can order your new NZ624 exactly the way you want it, and be the proud owner of a totally unique instrument that will last a lifetime. Your NZ624 will be just like the ones Neil plays on stage and in the studio, unlike many manufacturers who make cheaper versions of signature instruments that differ from the ones the artist plays.”

The body of the guitar features hand selected mahogany wood, a particularly popular tone wood that is denser and heavier than alder but lighter than maple. The body is then paired to a carved AAAA curly flamed maple top by default but other alternatives are available including Book matched AAAA quilted maple, flamed koa, spalted flamed maple and other exotic top woods.

The NZ624 comes with a tung-oiled unpainted 5-piece maple and walnut neck with Carvin’s Rapid Play low action design modified to Neil’s specs. It has a sleek neck heel and lower body cut-away for easy 24 fret access. It has a scale length of 25″ and is topped by a figured flame maple fretboard. Other features of the neck include abalone diamond inlays, medium-jumbo stainless steel frets, and a fingerboard radius of 14″. Getting the neck profile right is of utmost important for guitar virtuoso Neil Zaza, and since this guitar met his preferred setup, you can expect it to be as shred-friendly as possible.

Following the style of early EVH guitars, Zaza opted for a straightforward set of controls that include a single volume knob and a 3-way pickup selector. Default configuration features two C22 humbucker pickups, other options include metal covered S22 pickups, Holdsworth H22 pickups and Carvin’s M22 series pickups.

Other hardware include Carvin’s “M” tune-o-matic bridge with strings fed through the body and Carvin locking tuners. The matching 2×4 headstock comes with an abalone Carvin logo. Finally the Neil Zaza signature truss rod cover wraps up the guitar’s aesthetic features, serving as its identifying mark.

The new Neil Zaza NZ624 is now available as a custom shop order from Carvin’s San Diego, California facility. The default configuration NZ624 with flame maple top model comes with a list price of $1,899. To show that the company stands by this guitar, they are offering a 10-day return policy should you choose to buy the guitar. Visit Carvin World for more information.
