The “Doozy” brand continues to grow in popularity, and this new model will further emphasize their artistic approach to guitar building.

According to Duesenberg, the Starplayer TV Deluxe is one of the most versatile guitars in their line. And they say this because it has two Vario-Tone pots that will let you go beyond conventional pickup selection, it will let you mix the actual pickup-coils. This allows for a wide range of tones coming from a simple double humbucker configuration.

The body of this guitar follows the standard Starplayer TV semi-hollow single cutaway shape. It features a laminated spruce top, which are supported by laminated flamed maple on the back and sides. It comes with two f holes which add to its retro looks and feature a sustain block on the inside. The top is wrapped by a cream 5-layer purfling and the pickguard is transparent to showcase the guitar’s lower f-hole and its crimson red lacquer finish.

This instrument comes with a 1-piece maple neck that is glued into the body. It has a scale length of 25.6″ and carved into a D” profile. The fingerboard used is made of Indian rosewood, and it has pearloid diamonds inlays to guide you through the 22 jumbo frets. The neck also features a steel dual-action truss rod for stability and convenient adjustments. A black veneer truss rod on the headstock carries the guitar’s label.

Duesenberg equipped the guitar with a D-Tron humbucker for the neck and a Grand Vintage Humbucker for the bridge. A 3-way pickup selector lets you pick which pickup to use. As mentioned above, the guitar features 2 Vario-tone knobs that will let you blend the four pickup coils on this instrument.

Here is a video demo of the instrument in German, I added it here because it shows how the pickup-coil blending works:

Other hardware found on this instrument include Duesenberg designed steel saddle bridge, Radiator tremolo, standard strap pins and Duesendberg Z-tuners. All of these parts follow a nickel theme to create a shiny contrast to the finish.

This guitar is currently retailing for around $1,985. For more information on the new Starplayer TV Deluxe, you can visit Duesenberg.
