Epiphone introduces the Prophecy Collection

The new Prophecy Collection features four distinct shapes that all share common features.

In addition to the guitar style, the model either is an EX (EMG active or the new EpiActive pickups), GX (Gibson USA pickups), or FX (original Floyd Rose Tremolo).

Common features include highly figured quilt Maple tops, 24-fret SpeedTaper satin necks, jumbo frets, unique “blade” inlays, Epiphone's new, patent-applied-for Straplocks, hand-stained colors and eye-catching Pearl knobs. Because they're all “Customs”, they all have bound bodies and necks. The new Prophecy Collection takes advantage of all the design work and testing we've been doing over the past two to three years.

Prophecy Les Paul EX

With its solid Mahogany body with highly figured quilt Maple top and glued-in Mahogany neck, the EX has its roots firmly planted in the LP tradition. But that's where tradition ends.

Prophecy Les Paul GX

With its Black Cherry, hand-rubbed body and gold hardware, the new GX is breathtakingly beautiful. But, don't let its good looks fool you. At the heart of this LP are Gibson USA's custom Dirty Fingers pickups.

Prophecy SG EX

The EX starts with a solid Mahogany body and adds a highly-figured, quilt Maple top. It's 24-fret, Ebony fingerboard combined with a SpeedTaper, satin finish neck and double-cutaway.

Prophecy SG GX

The GX, with striking gold hardware, really turns up the heat. Add to that, custom extreme output Gibson USA Dirty Finger humbuckers and you've got one screamin' demon electric guitar.

Prophecy Futura EX

The roots of the Futura date back to the late-50's but there's nothing old about these guitars. Start with a Mahogany body with highly-figured quilt Maple top The neck is Mahogany and glued in using a long neck joint for excellent sustain and strength.

Prophecy Futura FX

The roots of the Futura date back to the late-50's but there's nothing old about these guitars. Start with a Mahogany body with highly-figured quilt Maple top The neck is Mahogany and glued in using a long neck joint for excellent sustain and strength.

Prophecy EM-2 EX

The EM-2 EX is fitted with a set of Epiphone's new EpiActive humbuckers. These are designed to provide razor sharp attack and endless sustain. Unlike most other active pickups on the market, EpiActive's can also be used in passive mode.

Prophecy EM-2 FX

The EM-2 FX is fitted with a set of Epiphone's new EpiActive humbuckers. These are designed to provide razor sharp attack and endless sustain. Unlike most other active pickups on the market, EpiActive's can also be used in passive mode.

No one else can tell you whether a guitar is good or bad for you. You need to go to your local music shop and try one out. If you like it then its right for you. If you don’t then try sometjing else. I have played both the Les Paul and the SG copys and I like them both. I favor the SG a little more because it just feels better for me. The other two models were not in the shop. Thats usually because 99% of people are going to go with the Les Paul or SG because of the reputation. I heard the Futura is a really great shreader but I’m not into that so it wouldnt be for me. Anyway, hit the music shops and test drive. The EM-2 is quite a bit cheaper than the other models. The SG I tried was 649.00 and the Les Paul was 749.00. I’m a strat man but I will purchase the SG soon. I like to play alot of AC/DC and it sounds really great for their kind of music. Good Luck.

hello, I james Black same as the person above this question.
I am wondering (this question is in reference to the pickups dirty fingers discussed above the prophecy sg ex the red model. how would you compare the sound
in any pickup selection to a paul reed McCarty double cut. I have a McCarty and a single cut. Both guitars are healthy in the sound department. Thank you, Jim Black.

hello, If you know anything about the new prophecy collection from epiphone, if any one of you have tried any of them then, please tell me your opinion. I have a gibson les paul studio classic(gold hardware). I had a nice epi les paul standard.
I won’t to know about the explorer or sg ex. thanks, Jim
