Fender Major League Baseball Stratocasters
Fender announces the availability of collectible MLB-themed Stratocasters, featuring official team logos and imagery.
Fender American Design Experience
The MLB-themed Stratocasters are fully functional instruments that showcase the sport labeled as "America's pastime", along with the different teams involved in the game.
The guitars come with custom designed art and keepsake team card that feature landmark imagery unique to every team, all officially licensed by Major League Baseball Properties.
Current team lineup include the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants. Fender also created a Minnesota Twins All-Star Game guitar, featuring the host team for the 2014 Midsummer Classic.
Fender marketing VP Justin Norvell said, "Fender and Major League Baseball are all-American originals. Through this relationship, we're excited to 'team up' to provide one-of-a-kind collectibles for musicians and baseball fans alike. The connections are intrinsic — baseball bats and guitars are both made from maple and ash, and tons of ballplayers are guitar players. We've had more casual or informal connections with players and teams for years, so this further solidifies a relationship we've long valued and enjoyed."
Each MLB Stratocaster comes with the familiar double-cutaway alder body and maple neck combination. They all feature a modern "C"-shape neck profile, maple fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets, 1.650" nut width and a fingerboard radius of 9.5".
Other features include three standard single-coil Strat pickups routed to a five-position switch with master volume and two tone knobs, six-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo, and standard Cast/Sealed tuners.
Fender and the Major League Baseball officially launched their relationship during the 2013 MLB All-Star Game at the New York Mets Citi Field. They started by selling limited edition MLB All-Star Game Stratocaster guitars. The guitars are currently being sold online for $799. Visit Fender for further details.
