Fender Standard Satin Series

Fender introduces the Satin Series, guitars with a fresh new look, expanding their Standard Stratocaster and Standard Telecaster family.

Fender Standard Satin Finish

These models feature four new satin urethane body finishes that are matched by black pickguard, pickups, switch tip and knobs.

The four new solid color finishes are given playful names, based probably on quick descriptions of how the finishes are perceived. The new finishes are named Arizona Sun, Blaze Gold, Flame Orange and Ocean Blue Candy.

Standard Stratocaster Satin

The Standard Stratocaster Satin comes with a traditional alder body and does not stray from the Standard Strat specs, save for a few aesthetic changes. The most obvious change would be the four new finishes, and next would be the black themed plastic hardware. The pickguard, pickup, knobs and switch tip are all black, it provides a dark contrast that emphasizes the bright new colorful Satin finishes.

The Ocean Blue Candy and Flame Orange finish both come with rosewood fretboards. The other two finishes, Arizona Sun and Blaze Gold, come with a maple fingerboard. The necks come with a modern C profile with a radius of 9.5″ and 21 medium frets. Everything else follow the Standard specifications including the scale length of 25.5″, three Standard Single-Coil pickups and the vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge.

The Standard Telecaster Satin

The Standard Telecaster Satin series come with basically the same aesthetic formula as the Stratocaster Satin series. They follow the same basic shape and design of the Tele, while introducing a new finishes contrasted by a black pickguard, black control knobs and switch tip. The body is made of alder, and the maple neck is carved into a modern C shape with the same radius as the Strat, 9.5″.

Unfortunately, you won’t find a maple neck model within the Standard Telecaster Satin Series, all four finishes come with a rosewood fingerboard. Other features include two Standard Single-Coil Tele pickups and a six-saddle string-through-body bridge.
