Gadow Guitars introduces the Monterey: a three-single-coil classic
Gadow Guitars recently announced the addition of their first three-single-coil guitar to their celebrated line-up of handcrafted American-made guitars: The Monterey.

Pictured: The Gadow Monterey.
President and head luthier Ryan Gadow has taken this time-honored, classic design and incorporated Gadow Guitar’s distinctive styling and attention to detail. The Monterey comes standard with a solid alder body, a comfortable 25 ½“ scale length neck, 1 11/16” real bone nut, and hand-wound Lindy Fralin pickups. Retail price is $2695 US.
As with other Gadow guitars, the body design reflects greater balance, comfort, and playability. The elegant neck offers a familiar, thinner vintage feel. Ryan’s bolt-on design provides an extremely tight joining of the neck to body, projecting an unmatched resonant acoustic quality. And as always, the Lindy Fralin pickups provide super-clean tone.

What sets Gadow Guitars apart from other manufacturers is their availability of options and customizations. For the Monterey, customizations include a choice of alder or swamp ash for the body, different fingerboard woods, Fralin or Lollar pickups, tuner and hardware colors, neck inlay choices, and finishes, including translucent, burst, solid, and glitter.
“Response to our set-neck guitars has been terrific, but customers continued to ask for our take on the single-coil models,” said vice president Paul Della Maggiora. “While there’s a glut of close copies to the original, we felt it was time to provide the Gadow experience with the Monterey.” Della Maggiora went on to say that the Monterey has generated the largest preorder requests of any of their instruments.
Gadow Guitars’ clean, elegant designs use the highest quality tonewoods and hardware. This, combined with their obsessive attention to detail, creates some of the finest custom electric guitars in the world. Each Gadow guitar is set up, tested and signed personally by Ryan Gadow to ensure the highest level of quality.
