Gibson Guitar announces the new ‘Inspired By’ Okuda Tamio Les Paul

Gibson Guitar has announced the new Gibson Custom Limited Edition Okuda Tamio – Inspired By Les Paul guitar. In close-operation with Tamio Okuda, who has been the front runner in Japanese Rock’n Roll scene, Okuda Tamio Les Paul OT Special is designed and produced by Gibson’s Custom Shop, which produces high-end models of Gibson guitars, such as custom models art guitars, and historic collections.

Okuda Tamio Les Paul OT Special is based on Les Paul Special, with Okuda’s favorite features such as P-90 pickups, Bigsby, and TV white finish. The guitar has been used as his main instrument for long time, and is very familiar with his fans.

Okuda formed the Rock / Pop band called UNICORN in his hometown Hiroshima in 1986, and made a major debut with the album “BOOM” from CBS/SONY label next year. The band, for which he performed as vocal / guitar of the band, was very popular with their unique sense of music, and released 7 albums in total till they disbanded on September 1993. Since then, he released solo-debut single “Ai no tame ni” in 1994, and achieved another success such as first ever live performance at Hiroshima municipal ballpark. Also, he has been very active with works with other artists, for example, as producer of PuffyAmiYumi, and performance with other artists like InoueYosuiOkudaTamio, O.P. King, and The band has no name.

There will be 2 versions of Gibson Cutom Shop The INSPIRED BY Series Okuda Tamio Les Paul OT Special. Pilot Run with special accessories is limited to 25, and same guitar without special item is limited to 75.
