Ibanez introduces 20th Anniversary Joe Satriani Guitars

Joe Satriani celebrated two 20th anniversaries this year — the 20th Anniversary of his groundbreaking "Surfing with the Alien" album and his 20th year with Ibanez Guitars. Since Satriani celebrated two anniversaries, Ibanez decided to offer two 20th anniversary models.

The Limited Edition JS20TH features a three-dimensional Silver Surfer graphic, which is reported to require a very time-consuming technique to effect. Also featured are DiMarzio PAF Pro (neck) and Fred (bridge) pickups, the original Edge locking trem, Joe Satriani strap and picks, and a hardshell case. Only 150 of these models will be available in the United States. The list price of the JS20TH is $7999.99.

Ibanez' second anniversary model, the JS20S, features a standard graphic of the Silver Surfer, IBZ Axis pickups, the Edge III trem, and lists for $1733.32.

The JS20TH prototype was originally seen in the hands of Joe Satriani at the Joe Satriani 20th Anniversary concert at the January Winter NAMM Show; however, details on the guitar had not been finalized and the guitar was not offered for sale at that time. The Summer NAMM Show is the official debut of both the JS20TH Limited Edition and the JS20S standard edition.
