The Music Man Majesty is John Petrucci newest signature guitar, available in 6 or 7 string versions.

Unveiled late last year and showcased, the Majesty guitar is now available for preorder, with a shipping date set to around the middle of July this year.
Petrucci noted that the design of the Majesty is inspired by a stallion, he wanted a guitar with the same power, grace and beauty in one package. For the aesthetics, Music Man and John went for a sleek modern race car look.
An important feature of the Majesty is its Neck-through design, this means that the headstock, neck and the central part of the body, are all a single piece of honduran mahogany. The bridge and pickups are all mounted to the central piece, ensuring that the strings and pickups are mounted on a single piece of wood.
The sleek wings of the body are carved from basswood, while the top of the body is made of maple. Ernie Ball engineers laser etched and sanded the central maple top area to give it the look of carbon fiber - completing the German race car appeal of the instrument. The dual cutaway body is shaped in such a way that allows for convenient upper fret access.
The scale length of the instrument is 25.5" and it features an ebony fretboard with 24 medium jumbo frets, and the 6-string version has a nut width of 1-11/16" while the 7-string version has a slightly wider nut width of 1-7/8". Custom JP Majesty Inlays serve as guide for your fretting hand.
Giving the guitar its voice are two DiMarzio John Petrucci Signature Illuminator humbuckers and a piezo bridge pickup. This is routed to a 3-way piezo-magnetic pickup switch and a 3-way pickup selector, both switches are recessed for ergonomics. Pushing the volume control knob engages the built-in preamp that adds up to 20db of gain. The tone knob on the other hand allows for split-coil tones when in the middle position.

Other features of the guitar include Schaller M6-IND locking tuners, Custom John Petrucci Music Man bridge with floating tremolo, and a third knob for controlling piezo volume with mono/stereo output selection. Finally the guitar comes in 5 different matt finishes: Polar Noir, Glacial Frost, Iced Crimson, Siberian Sapphire and Arctic Dream.
John Petrucci was quoted saying: "The Majesty guitar symbolizes the very reason why I am so proud to be a Music Man artist. I had the idea for this guitar a couple of years ago but it is because of their innovative spirit and dedication to the art of guitar building that it is now a reality. I am so grateful that I am able to collaborate with the best guitar company on the planet and so incredibly proud that together we have created what is to me, the perfect musical instrument for guitar players. I really hope you get a chance to play one and am confident that you will feel the same!"
The new Music Man Majesty is currently available for preorder with a retail price of $2,450. Visit Music Man for the complete specifications.
