Squire has a new Artist Series model, the Deryck Whibley Telecaster. For those who don't know (and I didn't) Whibley is the leader of Juno-winning Canadian punk-pop trio Sum 41. Okay, so I know Sum 41, my little sister is a fan, just not any of their members. I'm not completely out of touch afterall.
I have a pet hate of guitars with the following graphics: The letter X, A red hospital +, and the anarchy A.
Squire says “His new Squier signature model nails the vibe of a classic ’70s Fender Telecaster Deluxe model, with features including Whibley’s signature red X graphics, a single ferocious Duncan Designed humbucking pickup and retro-cool 'blackface' amp control knobs.”

one problem of this dangerous stuff is the pick-guard that looks easily scratched for the color is black. This guitar had been hanging on for years in the ‘guitar shop’ until I took it out.
Most people choose ibanez or fender just because they think squire has bad quality, but anyone who has heard the sound will change their opinions. I think Tom delonge’s guitar sounds similar to this guitar.
I really love it. I play it almost everyday, yeahhhhhhh.
I have one, sounds amazing.Deryck uses it in “walking disaster”.This is my first electric quitar and I live in Indonesia.
This guitar is really great for punk-rock. Have this, and loving it still. The duncan designed pickups kicks ass. Better still, upgrade it to Seymour Duncan SH-4 and be amazed!
Sum 41 for ever shame that dave bashk left but his new guitar is awsome rock on!!!!
screw ur opinion i like sum41 and derycks guitar and hes famouse i dont see ur name on the internet or on anything else for that matter 😛
Only a money-grubbing, no-talent, wannabe punk rocker douche-bag would put his name on a Squier guitar. Real musicians get REAL Fender endorsements.
Sum-41 suck ass and so does this guitar.
SUM 41 and Deryck Whibley rox !! Sum 41 4ever 😀
Fantastic pickup, has great sound, but i will modify the pickup series/parallel and single/hum.
i have this guitar and it’s great. only thing wrong with it is the fucking headstock. it looks sooooo fucking empty. stupid shit fucking fuck.
The one that deryck uses live is fender, i have only seen him having this guitar in one live show, and his new music videos
this is a great guitar i baught it like almost a year ago when it first came out at sam ash music store it has ben a great guitar for me i have had no problems with anything my dials are still fine and every thing sounds great i like the x’s i think they give it its own style if you dont like them then dont buy it no ones making but i give it a 10
is the guitar good? like does it play good even though it doesn’t have a neck-pickup? i dunno if any of you guys noticed but the guitar Deryck actually plays with, has a neck-pickup
Yes, his does have a neck pickup, but its not wired. He disconnected it. So since he only uses one pickup, there would be only the one on his signature. But this is a very good guitar, i have the black one. It sounds great, especially for punk/rock/metal, which is what deryck plays. It also looks AWESOME. Those red Xs are sweet. This is a very unique guitar. Yes its a Squier, but the thing that usually sucks about Squier is the pickups. Theyre usually trash. But this is a specially designed Duncan pickup, Which Deryck helped make. Its a sound he likes and uses, so if youre into his kind of music, then this is an awesome guitar for you to have!! 😀
I need to say that im really will to buy that. i live in finland so i think that guitar dont exist here. So i WANT buy it from thomann.de 🙂
i wonder da producing area of dis WEAPON
Take a white one, cuss the pick stripes is harder to c then(: And its a very good guitar. and the price is low 2(:
and should i get it in white or black???
is it a reliable guitar cuz i want one and just need to know if its good???
White One = Sexy
I have one
that’s my new baby 😀
and customized Fender logo in the headstock, looks very nice after that.
Sum 41 RLZ!
deryck rocks, and the red x’s look awesome. theyre for luck he says
i got it the only bad thing is the control knobs
they break easy
but mines like his other on live
the gray and black one
the x doesnt make it look stupid at all. it gives the guitar character and it it looks cool. you have probably never played guitar before or listened to sum.
I agree… Pity about the X – makes it look really stupid.
